This past week has seen the grand opening of our concert stage at Zephyr Point, the Roxeter Arms Pub, and the first exhibit at Roxeter Place for the Visual Arts. The turnout was fantastic, and the featured artists and performers superb!
On Thursday we had our first live music performers at Zephyr Point, thanks to the efforts of our Live Entertainment Manager, Freya Lovencraft. Canadian musician Quartz was followed by Mason Thorne. The night was beautiful, the musicians fantastic, and a good time was had by all!
On Sunday morning our first gallery show opened, featuring the art of Sisi Biedermann and Talullah Winterwolf, organized by our curator Shakti Adored. Selador Cellardoor streamed in update and “deranged” classical and baroque music to fit with the theme of the show, March Madness. The mad tea party table set completed the theme.
Sunday afternoon, Second Life comedian Archered billed as “The Great Pretender” opened the Roxeter Arms pub with his Jeff Foxworthy show. The turnout was great in this cozy venue and he kept everyone laughing.
All in all I would say that this was a great and successful opening week for Roxeter. The library will host some literary events starting in April, and the theatre is still under construction. There are good things to come!
